A survey’s results showed that 66.6% of enterprises in Turkey had websites — including social media accounts — as of January 2019.
This ratio was 66.1% in the last year, according to the survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday.
TurkStat said that almost one out of two enterprises — 49.6% — use social media networks in 2019, while this rate was 45.7% in 2018.
Some 11.2% of all enterprises use e-commerce methods, while 70.7% of them use their own websites or mobile applications and 62.3% of them use online stores and market places, the institute said.
“In 2019, 13.7% of enterprises employed ICT specialist whose main job is to develop, operate or maintain ICT systems or applications. This ratio was 11.6% in 2018,” it added.
Almost 95% of all Turkish enterprises have internet access in 2019, according to the survey results.
While 93.3% of enterprises use a fixed broadband connection for internet, 16.6% of them use internet connection with below 10 megabits per second (Mbps), 62.4% of them use 10-99 Mbps and 21% of them use over 100 Mbps.
