Tens of thousands gathered in London ahead of UK parliament’s vote on a ceasefire in Palestine’s Gaza. TRT World spoke to some of them. The majority of the nation’s politicians, 293 of them voted against a motion for a ceasefire, 125 voted for and 232 abstained. 56 Labour MPs, including 10 frontbenchers of the opposition Labour party resigned or face the sack, for mass rebelling against their leader Sir Keir Starmer’s refusal to back a Gaza ceasefire.
