Sivasspor march on with another win in Turkish league
Sivasspor beat Yeni Malatyaspor to push their winning streak to six, three points better than second-placed Besiktas
Demir Grup Sivasspor continued their six-match winning streak, remaining at top in Turkish Super Lig end of the 14th week.
With a win over Yeni Malatyaspor 3-1, Sivasspor maintained their hold on the top spot of Lig after Saturday’s game.
Galatasaray also grabbed three points after two game slump, beating Alanyaspor 1-0 thanks to heroic effort by goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
Galatasaray now at 6th place with 23 points, a spot better than Alanyaspor, who now dropped to seventh place.
On Sunday, the runners-up Besiktas also defeated Kasimpasa 3-2 in an away match with Umut Nayir’s goal in the stoppage time and jumped to the second place from third spot.
Meanwhile Besiktas got their sixth consecutive league win after this victory.
At New Antalya Stadium, Trabzonspor beat Antalyaspor 3-1, while Basaksehir were held to a 1-1 draw against Yukatel Denizlispor at Denizli Ataturk Stadium.
In opening match of Lig’s 14th week, Fenerbahce toppled Genclerbirligi 5-2 at home after two consecutive draws.
On Monday, underdogs Kayserispor defeated Caykur Rizespor 1-0 with Artem Kravets’ goal as they improved to 2 wins after beating Fenerbahce in the 10th week of Lig.
Sivasspor currently sit in the first place with 30 points while Besiktas holds 27 points and followed by Trabzonspor and Basaksehir with 26.
