Women’s volleyball championships to begin in China

Eczacibasi VitrA, VakifBank to compete in tournament from Dec. 3 to 8 in Shaoxing city

ANKARA

The 2019 Women’s FIVB Club World Championships will begin in China on Tuesday.

Eczacibasi VitrA and VakifBank from Turkey will compete in the tournament to be hosted by Shaoxing city.

The 2015 and 2016 winners Eczacibasi VitrA are in the Pool A to play against Guangdong Evergrande from China, Italy’s Imoco Volley and Brazilian team Itambe Minas.

Meanwhile, VakifBank — the 2013, 2017 and 2018 champions — will take on Igor Gorgonzola from Italy, Brazilian club Dentil Praia and Chinese team Tianjin Bohai Bank in the Pool B.

Top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals.

The tournament will wrap up on Dec. 8.
