ANKARA
Real Madrid won against Galatasaray 1-0 in a Group A match of UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
In the match played at Turk Telekom Stadium, German midfielder Toni Kroos’ goal in the 18th minute brought victory to Real Madrid in Istanbul.
Romanian forward Andone held onto the ball well throughout the match but missed wide open chances to capitalize his solid showing.
In the second half, Real Madrid missed a clear chance with Eden Hazard to double the lead, when he passed the goalkeeper Fernando Muslera but hit the crossbar.
The Lions failed to score in the remaining minutes, suffering another 1-0 defeat in the group.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s Moroccan midfielder Younes Belhanda argued with fans while being subbed off.
In the other Group A match, France’s Paris Saint-Germain toppled Belgium’s Club Brugge 5-0 to maintain perfect start.
After defeating Club Brugge, PSG led the group with 9 points, followed by Real Madrid with 4 points.
Brugge is third with 2 points, Galatasaray have 1 point with no goals so far in this Champions League campaign.
