ANKARA
Turkey’s Fenerbahce Beko beat Spain’s Baskonia 87-80 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague match to have their first regular season win on Thursday.
Fenerbahce Beko’s French star Nando De Colo recorded his EuroLeague career high, scoring 39 points in Istanbul’s Ulker Sports Arena.
De Colo’s previous career high in this tournament was 30 points that he scored against Valencia Basket in February 2018 while he was a CSKA Moscow player.
De Colo was the only Fenerbahce player scoring in double digits in Thursday’s game.
Visitors Baskonia’s top scorer was Tornike Shengelia as the Georgian center scored 18 points.
The Vitoria-Gasteiz team’s Danish forward Shavon Shields produced 17 points.
Following the home victory against Baskonia, Fenerbahce Beko ended their dry spell in EuroLeague as the Istanbul club lost their first two games to Spain’s Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda of Serbia.
Fenerbahce Beko will face AX Armani Exchange Milan in their fourth league game in Italy on Oct. 25.
