Russian investigators raid opposition leader’s offices

MOSCOW

Russian investigators on Monday raided the offices of a foundation headed by opposition leader Alexey Navalny.

The raids are being made in 30 regions to investigate alleged financial crimes of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, according to an official statement.

Employees of the foundation’s offices were interrogated and its bank accounts have been frozen.

Navalny, 41, also the chairman of Russia’s opposition Progress Party, is a vociferous critic of President Vladimir Putin and is regularly arrested for organizing protest rallies.
