Turkish football clubs celebrate World Animal Day

ANKARA

Turkish football clubs celebrated the World Animal Day on Friday.

The Istanbul giants Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray shared posts each on their social media accounts to mark the World Animal Day.

Besiktas said on Twitter that protection of animals is a duty of people.

Fenerbahce stated that the life is more beautiful with these friends — animals — with which people share the same world.

“All earth is connected, all life is precious. Happy #WorldAnimalDay!” Galatasaray said.

Separately, an English club Arsenal put a video on Twitter showing a player of them while feeding birds.

In the video, English midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, 22, gave apples to tropical birds in the London club’s 2018 pre-season tour of Singapore.

Arsenal named Maitland-Niles “the Bird Catcher” in the video.

Every year the World Animal Day is globally celebrated on Oct. 4 to raise social awareness for the protection and love of animals.
