France’s Paris Saint-Germain beat Turkish giants Galatasaray 1-0 Tuesday in a Group A match of Europe’s most prestigious football tournament, the UEFA Champions League.
PSG’s Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi scored in the 52nd minute at Istanbul’s Turk Telekom Stadium to give his team the win.
Galatasaray’s defense gave PSG players too many chances and the Lions could not score a goal in their first two matches this season in the Champions League.
PSG played without Brazilian star Neymar due to his European suspension and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani was not part of the team’s squad in Istanbul due to an injury.
Colombian forward Radamel Falcao is the top scorer for Galatasaray in the Champions League with 12 goals in 29 matches.
In another Group A match, Spanish giants Real Madrid drew with Belgium’s Club Brugge 2-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
In their first game of the tournament, Paris Saint-Germain hammered Real Madrid 3-0 at home as Galatasaray drew goalless with Club Brugge in an away game.
