Turkey’s Atli wins silver in World Wrestling Championships

ISTANBUL

Turkish athlete Suleyman Atli on Friday claimed silver medal in the World Wrestling Championships, as Russian Zaur Uguev beat him 13-3 in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan.

Following today’s results, the Turkish wrestler also qualified to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The World Wrestling Championships will run through Sept. 22.

In a statement, Turkey’s Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu congratulated the athlete on winning the silver medal.
