ANKARA
Turkey’s chicken meat production rose 2.5% to reach 201,489 tons year-on-year in July, the country’s statistical authority reported on Friday.
Hen egg output in Turkey fell slightly 0.5% on a yearly basis to 1.6 billion units in July, TurkStat said.
The country produced 5,183 tons of turkey meat in the month, down 29.3% year-on-year.
Over the same period, the number of slaughtered chickens rose 2%, while the number of slaughtered turkeys slipped 10%.
The statistical authority will release next the poultry production report on Oct. 11.
